About Us

Since 2011, Dr. Aimee Castor and the staff at City Cat Veterinary Clinic have served urban cat owners in and around the Capitol Hill neighborhood with veterinary care tailored specifically for the feline patient. Every aspect of our practice is designed to make vet visits as pleasant as possible for cats, and Dr. Castor has dedicated her life to understanding them and helping them to lead long, happy, and healthy lives.

OUR Staff

Aimee Castor, DVM

Veterinarian

(She/Her)

Dr. Castor received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 1997. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and has dedicated her independently-owned practice exclusively to feline patients since 2008.

Kelsey

Licensed Veterinary Technician

(She/Her)

Kelsey is a licensed veterinary technician that joined our team in the summer of 2025. Starting with a feral colony more than 30 years ago she was inspired to help cats get the most out of life with TNR, medical care, and homing when able. Graduating from PIMA with honors in 2011, she has spent her entire career working only with felines. She has a special interest in hospice care and grief counseling for their owners.

Mark

Veterinary Assistant

(He/Him)

Mark received his BA from The Evergreen State College in 2017, and has been working the front desk at City Cat since 2021. At home, he recites poetry to his black cat, Vasily.

Meatball

resident cat

(He/Him)

Meatball is a former tomcat from Quincy, WA with a mysterious past. His trademark features are his stumpy tail, chubby cheeks, and mellow personality. Meatball is a working cat, and his duties include medication demonstrations, keeping the rugs in the lobby warm, and offering his belly to be scratched.

Moppet

Junior Resident Cat

(She/Her)

Moppet is the resident Persian. She is a survivor of Feline Infectious Peritonitis, as well as a corneal ulcer that led to the loss of her right eye as a kitten. Moppet is very playful and curious, and will make her need for attention known through her loud, squeaky meows. She enjoys sitting in boxes, ambushing Meatball, and watching Cat TV.
